A Healthier Lifestyle

Impulse Global is form by a volunteer group of active gay men around the world in collaboration with AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF).

What is Impulse GROUP?

Impulse Group is an international group dedicated to promoting healthier sexual lifestyles among gay men in 18 cities around the world. With support from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, this group of volunteers works to create campaigns, events, and online content to reach a new generation of gay men who live in a modern and rapidly evolving world.

HIV prevalence among gay and bisexual men is different in each city, we understand that, but we also acknowledge we are living in a global era where together we can find a solution.

About 15% of gay men live with HIV, whether they know it or not.

OUR SEX. OUR CITIES. OUR LIVES.

We believe in a community where knowing, asking or sharing your HIV status is appreciated and not judged.

The HIV epidemic is a reality, there are currently more than 36 million people in the world living with the human immunodeficiency virus and about 40% do not know that they are carriers of the virus.

Despite the economic and political efforts of many countries, the real front to fight against this epidemic is in each one of us. It is we who must initiate the conversation with our friends and the people we love, remind them to be tested and remain negative or undetectable, to give visibility to people living with HIV and among all to fight against stigma and rejection, even within of the gay community.

Currently the disease is not fatal, but it is not curable either; The real cause of death is ignorance.

Are you willing to be part of the change?

Let’s talk about HIV, let’s talk about bareback sex and condoms, let’s talk about monogamy and sexual freedom. Let’s start from sero.

We need to acknowledge that drug and substance abuse is reality a among gay men. How does this affect the way we relate to others? How does this affect our sex?

What’s the deal with PrEP and PEP? Are preexposure and postexposure an option for you?

Our Story

Our Story

In the summer of 2009, HIV rates were climbing among gay men. Jose Ramos and a group friends sat in his kitchen in Los Angeles, CA and wondered, “Why?” With so much information out there, why weren’t people listening, reading, learning, understanding? So they came up with a solution. Instead of preaching to people, they wanted to have a conversation with them. Jose presented the idea to AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Impulse was born!

Impulse is comprised of volunteers who tirelessly dedicate themselves to the cause of sexual health education, advocacy, and breaking stigma for gay men, both positive and negative. With support from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, this group of volunteers works to create campaigns, events, and online content to reach a new generation of gay men who live in a modern and rapidly evolving world.

In 2013, Impulse opened a second chapter in Mexico City. Since then they have rapidly expanded to include eleven U.S. branches including South Florida, Atlanta, New York City, San Diego, Dallas, Washington DC, Orlando, and San Francisco. International branches include Mexico City, Guadalajara, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, New Delhi, and Beijing.
